Whitening is suitable where a patient is happy to achieve a gradual whitening effect. Whitening is a good way to ensure your whiter teeth are maintained over time. At your whitening appointment, the dentist with take impressions of your teeth, from which a study model is made, producing a small tray (or ‘pocket’) which fits your teeth perfectly. Your whitening kit includes special teeth whitening solution which is added to the tray ensuring that it only comes into contact with the required surfaces and that no damage is done to the soft gums.

Philips Zoom! at-home tooth whitening kits offer a safe, convenient, and effective way to achieve a noticeably whiter smile in just one to two weeks. Enjoy professional-quality results at an affordable price, with little to no sensitivity.
Each kit includes a whitening gel supplied in a syringe, which is applied to custom-made, thin, clear, and comfortable trays. These trays are worn for 4–6 hours per day or overnight over a period of 2–3 weeks, depending on your desired results.
The gel contains 16% carbamide peroxide—the active whitening ingredient—which releases oxygen into the enamel, gently lifting stains and brightening the teeth over time.
A 6% carbamide peroxide version is also available at Nuala Cagney for those who prefer a lower-concentration option.
You will need to have an assessment first with your dentist to make sure you are suitable for treatment. Whitening can only lighten the colour of your natural teeth, it cannot change the colour of any fillings or ‘false’ teeth such as crowns, veneers and dentures.
