Be the best version of you

Facial aesthetics are non-surgical, cosmetic procedures that are also known as anti-wrinkle treatments.

Anti Wrinkle Treatment

As we get older, we become more aware of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s not unusual and it happens to everyone — in fact, such hints of age can be exacerbated by lifestyle choices such as smoking and excessive sun exposure.

Lines on the face tend to be the most pronounced and obvious, due to the constant movement and shifting of our facial movements causing fine lines and deeper wrinkles to appear in the skin above. Not only do dental care providers have a thorough and in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy, we are experts in comprehensive, sensitive patient care when it comes to the distress that unwelcome appearance changes or signs of aging can cause. At Nuala Cagney Dental and facial aesthetic clinic your facial rejuvenation is in safe and expert hands.  Nuala, who is additionally trained in facial aesthetics techniques and artistry, can administer Botulinum toxin (most often known as Botox) as a targeted injection treatment to reduce and reverse the appearance of wrinkles. Botox used in this way works by relaxing the underlying facial muscles, and in doing so softening deep wrinkles and smoothing fine lines in the skin above, preventing them from becoming established. This cosmetic procedure is entirely non-invasive and non-surgical, only requiring your dentist to delicately and precisely inject the Botox into the targeted problem areas.

Botox is most commonly used in a dental practice to treat the upper portion of the face – that is the appearance of ‘frown lines’ in the forehead, or around the eyes to address ‘crow’s feet’. It typically takes between 3 to 4 days following the injection to see the full aesthetic effects of your treatment (which can then last for 4 months, on average, although frequent repeat treatments
generally extend the lifetime of each treatment.  While aging is a natural part of life, discomfort, anxiety or distress about our
skin does not have to be. Safe, routine and effective facial rejuvenation treatments can reliably and dramatically soften entrenched wrinkles and smooth out your skin, allowing you to look years younger and maintain a natural, youthful glow. In other words to be the best version of you.

Why Should I Come to a Dentist for Facial Aesthetics?

There are a lot of reasons why you should opt for a dental clinic if you are
considering facial aesthetics:

1. Dental clinics have a clinical environment that is suitable and well-equipped to perform non-surgical facial aesthetic procedures.
2. Dentists have a range of honed skills that are useful in relation to facial aesthetics, including training in the anatomy, biochemistry and physiology of the head and neck.
3. Dentists have great attention to detail — something that’s needed for them to be successful in their field.
4. Dentists have a high degree of accurate manual dexterity.
5. Dentists are familiar with — and comfortable administering — fine-needle injections.
6. Dentists are great communicators. They use these skills to communicate with their patients about how they are feeling and what to expect.

Dermal Fillers

If you look in the mirror and are not 100% happy with what you see, there are solutions that can help you. We know the importance of feeling confident. We talk to clients every day and help them feel confident in their own skin.
As we get older, the amount of collagen and elastin in the skin reduces. The skin starts to sag and wrinkles form. However, you can make changes. If you want to rejuvenate your facial features, then why not consider some Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers work by adding volume. They are used to fill in deep lines, creases and wrinkles in the face. They also add volume to lips that are wrinkled or thin. If you have scars or blemishes, they can help improve the look of them too. There is no need for expensive or complicated surgery.

The procedure is straightforward and takes less than an hour, depending on the area of treatment. An anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin area prior to injection of the dermal filler. Make-up can be applied 30 minutes after the procedure has been carried out.  There is very little pain involved with a dermal filler procedure. Very small needles are used to inject the gel into the tissue beneath the skin. The gel expands the neurofibres and tautens the skin to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
The results of a dermal fillers treatment are practically instant and can last for up to nine months.
